The T-Rex That Showcased The Power of PlayStation® (1994) | PlayStation® 30th Anniversary Video
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of PlayStation, I've created a YouTube video showcasing the PSX T-Rex Dino tech demo with fun facts and easter eggs.
Dedicated to the late Bernie Stolar

Oh hey I've seen that one.
I was actually showing the demo yesterday. It's a shame w hat's happened to Tommy though, with the whole Intellivision Amico nonsense and all. I've unfortunately lost his respect in recent years.

I got mine from a vendor at PAX East in Boston ten years ago. Apparently, there are a few European variations of the Dino tech demo—one that reflects the T-Rex from the European demo1 disc with a VCD mode, and another that features the manta ray and the T-Rex from the Developer's Disc.MasterLink wrote: ↑January 13th, 2025, 5:05 am Oh hey I've seen that one.

I'm pretty sure it's part of the Pro SDK as demo code for TMD vector animation/morphing (VDF files, vector deformation format, maybe??
), I think the animation might have been created with Sony's mimewave program, I've mentioned it before here regard no$psx and 8MB PS-X exe's.
Here is the Net Yaroze version of the dino demo: https://github.com/gwald/netyaroze_demo ... demos/dino
@MasterLink What does Tommy Tallarico have to do with the PSX developer demo disc?
He didn't create a console but he sure created something very entertaining during the lock downs!

As long as my memory hasn't gone too far south, if I recall he did one of the music tracks on the disc, or was involved with one of them.gwald wrote: ↑March 1st, 2025, 11:42 am I'm pretty sure it's part of the Pro SDK as demo code for TMD vector animation/morphing (VDF files, vector deformation format, maybe??), I think the animation might have been created with Sony's mimewave program, I've mentioned it before here regard no$psx and 8MB PS-X exe's.

Thanks for sharing. Tommy composed the PlayStation demo soundtracks (please check out the YouTube video I provided when you have time). The tracks were also featured in his second album in 1996.gwald wrote: ↑March 1st, 2025, 11:42 am
